Maserati supercar based on LaFerrari rendered

There are some rumors about Maserati working on its own version of the LaFerrari which should be launched sometime in 2015. Anton Gjorsev has digitally imagined this car which borrows a lot of styling cues from the LaFerrari but with strong influences of Maserati’s own styling language. The rumored two-seater is likely to ditch the LaFerrari’s hybrid technology which means it should be lighter than the car it will be based on. In terms of engine choice, we can expect either the Quattroporte’s 3.8-liter V8 quad-turbo or a 6.3-liter V12 from the same LaFerrari. It’s safe to say the output of the engine will be smaller than what the LaFerrari has to offer.

The same reports are indicating Maserati is going to borrow the chassis, suspension and electrical system from the LaFerrari and will feature some specially-designed body parts manufactured from carbon fiber to keep the curb weight as low as possible. It will be sold exclusively as a coupe.
