Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario unleashed

Lamborghini is showcasing at 2013 Auto Shanghai starting this weekend the Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario which represents a special edition of the Aventador marking the company’s 50th anniversary. Only 100 examples will be built and all will come with the mighty V12 6.5-liter engine tuned to output no less than 720 HP (529 kW). By comparison, the regular Aventador LP700-4 can deliver 20 HP (15 kW) less from the same twelve-cylinder engine. Power is transferred to the wheels with the help of an ISR gearbox propelling the supercar to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds and onto a maximum speed of 217 mph (350 km/h).

No details were mentioned about the car’s price tag but Lamborghini did reveal the LP720-4 50 Anniversario will be offered with a two-tone Giallo Maggio (May yellow) paint which has been specifically designed for this model and is not available for the regular Aventador or the soon-to-be-replaced Gallardo.

Aside from this special new exterior paint, the limited Aventador comes with a revised front fascia which now sports an extended splitter and larger air intakes. Complementing the yellow paint job are the lower proportions of the car which have a matte black hue. If we look at the back of the car we will notice various changes which have been made in order to improve the aerodynamics of the car as well as the engine ventilation.

Moving inside the sporty cabin we find the semi-aniline leather upholstery that has a Nero Ade (black look which has been combined with a special shade of brown known as Terra Emilia. The Italian marque is also offering to those 100 clients the chance to order the interior in a Giallo Quercus finish which mirrors the exterior paint job. The car also benefits from diamond-pattern stitching entitled Q-Citura which is available exclusively on this model.

No details have been released about the car’s price tag but chances are a pricing list will be published this weekend during the 2013 Auto Shanghai which kicks off tomorrow. As you would imagine, it will be significantly more expensive than the standard Aventador.
