Volkswagen Design Vision GTI Concept announced

At 2013 Worthersee this month Volkswagen will be showcasing the Design Vision GTI Concept which is motivated by a new 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine rated at an impressive 503 HP (370 kW) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque.

Those ponies are sent to all four wheels via a DSG dual-clutch gearbox which enables the concept to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds, en route to a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). In comparison to the standard production Golf VII GTI, the concept is 15mm shorter so it measures 4253 mm in length.

There are other differences as far as dimensions are concerned as the concept’s width has jumped from the stock 1799mm to 1870mm, while at the same time the height of the vehicle was lowered from 1442mm to 1385mm. The front tracks have increased from 1538mm to 1595mm, while the rear ones have also grown in size from 1516mm to 1579mm.

Volkswagen mentions the Design Vision GTI Concept sits on huge 20-inch alloys wrapped around in 235/35 front and 275/30 rear tires. As the sketches show, the Golf VII has received a brutal full body kit and a radically stripped interior cabin.
