2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class launched

After months of anticipation, Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed the new generation of the S-Class yesterday in Hamburg, Germany. The standard wheelbase variant is 5116mm long, 1899mm wide and 1483mm tall, with a wheelbase measuring 3035mm. As for the LWB model, this one is 5246mm long and has a 3165mm wheelbase. The S350 BlueTEC model is motivated by a V6 3.0-liter diesel engine outputting 258 HP and 620 Nm, enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.8s and a maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The S500 gains a V8 4.7-liter with 455 HP and 700 Nm which can achieve 62 mph in 4.8s and the same top speed.

There’s also the S300 BlueTEC Hybrid which makes use of a 4-cylinder, 2.1-liter mill rated at 204 HP and 500 Nm). This one will run the sprint in 7.6 seconds and hit 148 mph (238 km/h). Lastly, the S400 Hybrid will utilize a hybridized V6 3.5-liter power unit rated at 306 HP and 370 Nm. 0-62 mph will be done in 6.8 seconds, en route to a top speed of 155 mph.
