German automaker Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed the highly-anticipated CLA 45 AMG this week at the 2013 edition of the New York Auto Show. Essentially a four-door coupe version of the A 45 AMG, the most powerful CLA variant is equipped with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine ready to deliver no less than 360 HP (265 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. This mill is connected to a 7-speed, dual clutch SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7 gearbox sending those ponies to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system which is front-biased. The setup allows the CLA 45 AMG hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds, before reaching a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
It benefits from an independent sport-tuned suspension and has 18-inch wheels plus a three-stage ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist system. It promises to return 34 mpg US or 6.9 liters / 100 km and benefits from an S sport mode. There’s also a C mode which will configure the car for higher fuel efficiency and will turn on the ECO stop/start system.
Pricing starts from $47,450 in the United States while European customers will have to pay at least 56,078 euros.
