Mercedes-Benz says the C-Class’ air conditioning system will be able to use data from the GPS to detect when there are incoming tunnels so that the car’s computers will automatically close the recirculation flap to avoid fume-filled air to enter the cabin. In addition, the front passenger seat will boast a sensor capable of disengaging the front passenger airbag when a child seat is detected.

Depending on selected engine, the new C-Class will be up to 100 kg lighter than the outgoing model and will be optionally sold with a self-leveling Airmatic air suspension with several driving modes such as Comfort, ECO, Sport and Sport Plus.
