New photo of 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class surfaces the web

A new official photo of the upcoming 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has surfaced the web, prior to what we assume will be a full reveal set for tomorrow. Through this photo we take a better look of the exterior design which seems to show strong influences from the facelifted E-Class and the all-new S-Class while at the same time having some resemblances with the smaller CLA. From what we know so far, the next-gen C-Class will utilize the MRA – Modular Rear Wheel-Drive platform and should lose around 100 kg compared to the outgoing model, despite getting an 8 cm longer wheelbase.

Upon launch it will allegedly be offered with a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 157 HP, along with a beefier 2.0-liter turbo with 186 HP. There will also be a more frugal 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel outputting 170 HP.

The interior cabin has already been showed by Mercedes-Benz and will be available with an optional 8.4-inch touchscreen display, a touch-controlled pad and a head-up display.
