ABT announces Audi RS5-R

The Audi RS5 is set to receive a new upgrade program courtesy of the engineers from ABT who will be showcasing their newest program in early March at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Under the hood is the same 4.2-liter V8 normally aspirated engine which as standard outputs 450 HP (331 kW). ABT tuned this mill and it now delivers an impressive 470 HP (345 kW).

The vehicle has also received a brand new exhaust system which has dual pipes mounted on the car’s sides. This modified RS5 will do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 4.3 seconds, whereas the regular version is 0.3 seconds slower.

ABT has also mounted a new set of 20-inch alloys and fitted the RS5 Coupe with a different front splitter, front apron, rear wing and side skirts. These components that we enumerated are all made from carbon fiber, just like the bonnet and diffuser. The choice of carbon fiber was obvious as ABT wanted to lower the curb weight of the car but they didn’t say by how much.

The interior cabin hosts a black & red Alcantara theme, stainless steel roll cage, racing stripes for the bucket seats, carbon fiber door panels, as well as four-point seat belts to keep you safe at all times.
