The Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR is currently in developed at Romeo Ferraris and they have released several images of the racecar. It’s obviously based on the road-going Giulietta, but it has received a race-spec exterior body kit and now the car has the following physical dimensions: 4351 mm length, 1950 mm width and with a 2659 mm wheelbase. Motivation comes from a 1742 cc inline-four engine teamed up to a 6-speed Sadev gearbox which transfers the motor’s power to the front axle. The vehicle has an uprated braking system consisting of 6-piston front calipers paired to 378 mm discs while at the back it has 4-piston calipers coupled to 290 mm discs.
Testing of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR will kick off this week and all the work will be conducted by Alfa Romeo WTCC factory driver Salvatore Tavano as well as by Mario Ferraris. The car will receive a series of final adjustments to make sure it will be ready to race starting 2016 for those willing to pay the starting price of €98,000 (without data acquisition and taxes). The first batch of production consisting of 10 cars will be ready in April 2016 for customer racing teams.
