Audi A7 Sportback 3.0 TDI competition launched

The TDI engine has reached its 25th anniversary so Audi decided that the best way to celebrate this milestone would be through a special edition of the A7 Sportback. It’s called the “3.0 TDI competition” and comes equipped with a slightly revised bi-turbo clean diesel V6 3.0 TDI engine featuring updated charging and camshaft which have boosted output by 7 PS to 326 PS (240 kW). If the driver presses hard on the accelerator pedal, the vehicle will offer for a short amount of time an overboost of 20 PS (15 kW). Torque figure stands at 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) between 1,400 and 2,800 rpm.

The Audi A7 Sportback 3.0 TDI competition is capable of running the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in as little as 5.1 seconds and just as impressive is the fuel efficiency of the model as the four-door coupe can return 38.6 mpg US (6.1 liters / 100 km) with 162 g/km of CO2 emissions.

It comes fitted as standard with the S line kit and also benefits from a 20mm lowered suspension. The vehicle sits on five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels which have a W design and black painted sides. These wheels have been wrapped around in 265/35 tires while the stopping power comes from 17-inch discs coupled with red-painted brake calipers.

Available on order next month, the limited-run A7 will be priced at 72,000 EUR and will reach customers starting this fall.
