The Audi R8 e-tron production version is going to have a curb weight of 1,840 kg (4,056 lbs). The reveal was made by British magazine Autocar after they had the possibility to test drive a near-production prototype. Unlike the first R8 e-tron which never made it to the dealerships, this new version will actually go on sale in the months to come but its price tag is not known at this moment. Despite the considerable weight, it still manages to remain properly fast as it will run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 3.9 seconds before topping out at a limited 130 mph (210 km/h).
The 2015 Audi R8 e-tron is powered by two electric motors that together generate 462 HP (340 kW) and 679 lb-ft (920 Nm) of torque while a 92 kWh lithium-ion battery will be enough to provide a maximum range of 279 miles (450 km).
