Audi unleashes revised A8 lineup

After several teasers to build up the anticipation, Audi has fully revealed the 2014 A8 lineup which has received minor exterior tweaks to keep the model fresh and competitive in a segment where the new S-Class is considered the king. New for the mid-cycle refresh are LED matrix headlights that encompass 25 light-emitting diodes, along with sequentially-illuminated LED turn signals which pack no less than 18 LEDs in the headlights and an additional 24 LEDs at the back in the taillights. Other changes include a more sculpted bonnet, new front grille and reworked front & rear bumpers.
Depending on market, Audi is going to sell the A8 with a TFSI 3.0-liter outputting 310 HP, a beefier twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter rated at 435 HP, as well as a more economical TDI 3.0-liter mill generating 258 HP. There’s also a TDI 4.2-liter cranking out 385 HP, along with a 6.3-liter W12 offering 500 HP in the A8 L W12 quattro.
Let’s not forget about the range-topping S8 with its 520 HP from the 4.0-liter TFSI. Audi can also sell you an A8 Hybrid featuring a 2.0-liter TFSI, electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack providing a combined output of 245 HP.
