Bentley unveils Grand Convertible concept

Bentley has released preliminary details and images with the Grand Convertible concept set to premiere this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The vehicle serves as a sneak preview for the forthcoming next generation Azure and is being described by Bentley as the “ultimate expression of British automotive luxury”. They say it’s actually the “most sophisticated open-air car ever created by Bentley” and judging by these images we are basically dealing with a convertible derivative of the Mulsanne. The design should be more than familiar to most people but obviously the open-top version lacks the two rear doors and adds a retractable soft top.

The Bentley Grand Convertible concept has received a beautiful Sequin Blue body paint featuring liquid metal accents on the windscreen frame as well as on the hood. Inside the cabin there are diamond-quilted leather seats, wood trim, Sequin Blue accent stitching and a Burr Walnut tonneau cover featuring the biggest piece of wood veneer seen on a Bentley.
Motivation comes from a V8 6.75-liter engine outputting 530 bhp (395 kW) and a maximum torque of 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft). Details about the performance have not been released but Bentley promises the Grand Convertible provides “effortless performance.”
