BMW M2 will have 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch gearboxes

Comprehensive details have emerged concerning the upcoming BMW M2 Coupe. Set to debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the high-performance Bavarian coupe will come as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, but if you pay more you can get the optional seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The information has been released by a member of the 2addicts forums who recently placed an order for the M2. He also found out the car will be available with one of the following body paints: Mineral Grey, Long Beach Blue, Black Sapphire and Alpine White. BMW is offering the interior cabin exclusively in black leather featuring blue stitching.

It will come only with 19-inch black alloys and will have rear parking sensors, black shadow line, carbon fiber inserts and Navigation Professional as standard. Optional goodies include a rearview camera, heated front seats, Internet access, adaptive headlights and a Harman Kardon audio system. The options list also includes an extended five-year warranty, two telephone systems and tinted rear windows.

It is believed the BMW M2 Coupe will be powered by a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine outputting somewhere in the region of 370 PS and 465 Nm or 500 Nm with overboost. Performances should be stellar as the potent little machine will need less than 4.5 seconds until 100 km/h and should top out at an electronically-limited 250 km/h.

We will get to see the new M2 in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with sales to begin before the end of this year.
