BMW’s motorcycle division has decided to celebrate its 90th anniversary by launching the R nineT which provides a special combination of old-school styling with modern technology. Conceived to provide “purism and power”, the BMW R nineT motorcycle rides on black alloy wheels with stainless steel spokes and comes with forged aluminum components as well as a brushed aluminum fuel tank. Thanks to a modular design it can be easy customized so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it’s compatible with a wide variety of comfort seats, LED indicators and an Akrapovic titanium exhaust.
Motivation comes from a flat twin boxer engine with a capacity of 1170cc which develops 110 HP and a peak torque of 119 Nm. The BMW R nineT needs only 3.6 seconds to get to 62 (100 km/H) before topping out at 124 mph (200 km/h).
