BMW to offer optional Competition Package for 2014 M6 family

The Bavarian company will offer for the revised 2014 M6 lineup an optional Competition Package for those who want a little bit more oomph under the bonnet.

Once fitted with this package, the output of the twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter will jump by 15 bhp (11 kW) which means the mill will be capable of churning 567 bhp (423 kW).

All three models of the M6 family will receive the additional horsepower: Coupe, Convertible and GranCoupe.

The Competition Package will also be available for the M5 and will bring for all four models a sportier setup for the suspension, different alloy wheels, a more direct steering ratio and black exhaust tips. Thanks to the numerous upgrades, the cars will be able to do the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) run about 0.1 seconds faster than before, en route to an estimated top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h) which we believe will be electronically limited.
