BMW unleashes 2015 X5 M and X6 M with 567 bhp

BMW is introducing the 2015 X5 M and X6 M prior to a public debut scheduled next month at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The two high-performance crossovers have received a more aggressive body along with 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in Michelin Pilot Super Sport UHP tires. The duo can also be distinguished by the quad exhaust system, ventilated front fenders and a rear diffuser. Inside the cabin of both models there are M-branded leather steering wheel with aluminum gearshift paddles, an updated instrument cluster, leather sport seats, Alcantara roofliner, Harman Kardon sound system and a four-zone automatic climate control system.

2015 BMW X5 M-1

The 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M are motivated by a V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine unleashing 567 bhp (423 kW) and a maximum torque of 553 lb-ft (750 Nm). All that power is sent to both axles through an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox which allows the duo to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 4.2 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).


Both cars have been equipped with a high-performance braking system featuring dark blue metallic calipers, along with an M Servotronic steering system, a Dynamic Damper Control system and a sport-tuned suspension.

Scheduled to go on sale in U.S. in the spring of 2015, the X5 M carries a starting price of $99,650 whereas the X6 M is available from $103,050.
