BMW unveils 3-Series LCI

BMW has unveiled yesterday at a special event in Germany the 3-Series LCI. They decided to keep the cosmetic changes down to a minimum as the only revisions were made to the front air intakes and the rear apron trim which will have different configurations depending on the Line version. It will be optionally available with full LED headlights, along with new alloy wheel designs and body paints. On the inside it gets additional chrome inserts, sliding cover for the cup holders, full color head-up display and an updated Navigation Professional with three-year free updates.

The base 318i model has received a small 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with 136 PS and 220 Nm while the 335i has been replaced by the 340i which has a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder with 326 PS and 450 Nm. In addition, the 3-Series LCI introduces the 330i model as a replacement for the 328i and it has 252 PS and 350 Nm.


Another novelty is the 330e plug-in hybrid which will consume 2.1 liters / 100 km and emit 49 g/km of CO2 while the electric range stands at 22 miles. Moreover, the 320d has received an extra 6 PS for a grand total of 190 PS.
