Brabus tunes the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG

The Geneva Motor Show next week will be the venue for Brabus’ latest creation – the 800 Roadster. As the images show, their latest project is based on the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG which comes with a massive AMG V12 bi-turbo 6.0-liter engine generating 630 HP and 1,000 Nm. After the engineers at Brabus work their magic, the same mill can churn 800 HP and a peak torque of 1,420 Nm which will be limited to 1,000 Nm. The standard version will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4 seconds while this version can do it 0.3 seconds quicker, on its way to a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph), while the regular version can only hit an electronically-limited 250 km/h (155 mph).

The Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG has also been fitted with a carbon fiber aerodynamic wide body kit which Brabus has developed in the wind tunnel. The vehicle rides on 20-inch alloy wheels shod in 255/30 ZR20 front and 305/25 ZR20 rear rubbers. The roadster’s ride height can be lowered by 25mm through a custom module of the ABC’s suspension. There’s also a fully customized interior cabin and a limited slip differential.
