Chevrolet is Just Hard to Hate

Who doesn’t like Chevys? Answer: nobody. That’s right, pretty much everyone likes Chevys for one reason or another. Chevy has been around for more than a hundred years, so they must have figured out the car game by now. By the looks of their new line up, it appears that they most certainly have figured this whole car thing out.

They must have done it decades ago, because many of their cars, whether vintage or relatively new, have become classics and extremely desirable and valuable.

The Camaro, the new one, not the one from the 1960s, is one of those newer cars that is becoming more classic each day. The Camaro has such a futuristic look to it that it’s a bit foreboding, until you gaze at it for a bit longer. Then you see the classic Chevy lines and you can feel the power oozing out of every inch of the powerful design.  Power is what the Camaro is all about. Power and elegant beauty all in one single car.

The evolution of this amazing vehicle began with its grandfather, the 1967 Camaro. That too was a classic. In fact, it’s one of the most desirable classics out there right now. People get into bidding wars when they find a restorable Camaro. It’s almost not safe to leave your house anymore; you might see a 60s Camaro that you can buy.

The new Camaros have just about the same problem, if you can call it a problem. One of the new Camaros pulled into the local gas station the other day and a beautiful woman got out to fill her gas tank. This woman was truly beautiful, no doubt a bout it. The first man cam over to her and started talking. I knew that was going to happen. Then a second man came over. Then I went over. Before you could say “See the USA in your Chevrolet” all three of us had forgotten the woman and were totally engrossed in the car itself. We did ask her a few questions – and the subject of her phone number never came up.

We wanted to know about her car so we asked Lynch Chevy of Milwaukee, “How fast was it.”  “Can I look inside?” “What’s that for?” We went on and on until she put the gas pump back and she said she had to go. All we wanted was a little friendliness. Maybe a couple of us were hoping she would offer us a test ride. But of course, that was when we had our bubble burst. She got in the car and drove off. We were all so sorry to see the car go. And the nice woman too.
