David Brown Automotive Speedback launched
The David Brown Automotive Speedback has been revealed through an XCAR video ahead of its public debut programmed for April 17 during the 2014 Top Marques Monaco. The vehicle is actually based on the Jaguar XKR but has been envisioned as a modern interpretation of the Aston Martin DB5. On the inside it has received premium leather upholstery together with metallic switchgear and a wood trim. In the rear luggage area there a neat picnic seat which can be folded out whenever necessary.
Its heart and soul is a V8 5.0-liter supercharged gasoline engine outputting 510 HP and a maximum torque of 625 Nm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and allows the vehicle to conquer the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) journey in just 4.6 seconds before reaching an electronically-capped top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
