Fiat unveils Panda Cross with rugged body

Fiat has prepared a more masculine version of the Panda that will be sold with the “Cross” moniker. You’ll be able to see it live at next month’s Geneva Motor Show where it will bring its rugged exterior appearance with larger wheel arches, different bumpers, updated fog lights and a pair of roof bars. The vehicle will be riding on a fresh new set of 15-inch rims while on the inside it will treat its users with a Blue&Me infotainment system and a climate control system.

Under the hood will be either a TwinAir 0.9-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 90 HP and 107 lb-ft or a 1.3-liter MultiJet turbodiesel outputting 80 HP and 140 lb-ft. Fiat is throwing in an updated 6-speed manual gearbox that comes with a shortened first gear to better tackle the rough terrain. There’s also the torque-on-demand system which is capable of distributing the available torque to the front and rear wheels based on traction.
