Ford Mustang RTR goes official with 725 bhp

Ford Racing in association with Vaughn Gitten Motorsport have taken the wraps off the 2015 Mustang RT which is being showcased these days in Las Vegas at SEMA. The newest interpretation of the Mustang RTR is based on the recently introduced generation which among others has brought an independent rear suspension. The RTR version can be had with a Spec 1 package encompassing only visual tweaks such as the upper grille incorporating lighting, along with a rear diffuser with side splitters, a chin spoiler, lower grille, rear spoiler, rocker splitters and lightweight alloy wheels.

There’s also a Spec 2 package offering a variety of power boosts, including a supercharger kit for the V8 5.0-liter bumping output to a whopping 725 bhp (540 kW). The Mustang RTR will also be available with a power kit for the smaller EcoBoost 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and the kit also includes a Magnaflow exhaust system, cold air intake system, sway bars and lowering springs.


All these upgrades will be available starting January 2015 at select dealers.
