Ford Performance squeezes 275 bhp from Focus ST

Ford Performance has developed an upgrade package tailored to the Focus ST facelift. It costs $1,900 in United States and will not avoid the car’s 3-year or 36,000-mile warranty, so you will be able to benefit from the output hike while keeping the warranty provided by Ford. The kit lifts output of the four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine by 23 bhp (17 kW) and 26 lb-ft (35 Nm) of torque to a grand total of 275 bhp (205 kW) and a maximum torque of 296 lb-ft (400 Nm). It should be mentioned these new output numbers are applicable when the hot hatchback is running on 93-octane fuel.

The kit is available across United States and encompasses a remapped engine ECU which has been tweaked to deliver a more aggressive engine mapping and a faster throttle response without affecting durability. There’s also a mountune induction kit, high-flow intercooler and an mTune handset together with all the other necessary hardware while optionally available is a mountune air filter end cap which is added to the high-flow air filter to control the sound as well as provide air filter protection in difficult weather conditions.

Ford Performance says the bump in power for the Focus ST facelift is fully street legal and is already available on order in all 50 states.
