High Anticipation: The 2015 Jeep Renegade

When the 2015 Jeep Renegade is released in the fourth quarter of this year, it will be the smallest vehicle in Jeep’s lineup.

Don’t let that fool you, though – it still has all the style and performance you’d expect from a Jeep.

Much like we have all grown to expect from their other Jeep models as seen at Akins of Winder.

The base model for the 2015 Renegade is the Latitude.

While not “Trail Rated,” the Renegade Latitude is equally at home in the city or on dirt roads.  In addition to Jeep’s Uconnect system and a ParkView back-up camera, the Latitude offers two notable features.  First is the Jeep Active Drive 4×4 system, which automatically distributes torque to the Renegade’s rear wheels for optimal grip, and has four Selec-Terrain modes – Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud.  The second major option on the Renegade Latitude is the two-panel My Sky open-air roof.  The front panel of the My Sky roof can be opened like a sunroof, or one or both panels can be removed and stowed in the rear cargo area in order to provide the driver and passengers with a panoramic view of the sky.

For drivers who demand more off-road performance, Jeep will also offer the 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.  Jeep considers this vehicle Trail Rated, and has given it a number of tweaks to enhance its off-road performance.  The Renegade Trailhawk comes standard with Jeep Active Drive Low – this system provides the performance of Jeep Active Drive, but also has a 20:1 crawl ratio and an additional Rock mode for Selec-Terrain.  The Renegade Trailhawk also boasts altered front and rear fascia for better approach and departure angles, an offroad suspension for increased ground clearance, and standard skid plates and tow hooks.
