Holden launches the 2014 Barina RS

Holden has taken the wraps off the 2014 Barina RS which as you can see from the attached photo is essentially a rebadged version of the Chevrolet Sonic RS which will be offered exclusively in Australia. The car is scheduled to reach Holden’s dealerships before the end of the year and will feature an aerodynamic body encompassing different bumpers, bigger rear spoiler and updated side skirts. Other changes worth mentioning include the 17-inch alloys, a flat-bottomed steering wheel along with sport seats. Pricing will be disclosed closer to November when the car will effectively go on sale.

They didn’t say what powers the car but our money is on a 4-cylinder, 1.4-liter turbocharged engine outputting 138 bhp (103 kW) and a peak torque of 200 Nm (148 lb-ft). Holden mentions the engineers fiddled with the car’s electric power steering in order to make it more compatible with the local tastes.
