Honda Concept D arrives at Auto Shanghai, previews flagship model

The Honda Concept D has taken the Auto Shanghai show by storm with its peculiar looks. The company says its serves as a preview for a production SUV which will sit on top of Honda’s range in China and promises to offer “advanced features” as well as “advanced safety technologies.” It gets a rather angular and busy design which certainly won’t suit everyone’s tastes, but the LED headlights and taillights do have an interesting shape as they look futuristic. Gone are the conventional side mirrors as Honda has decided to replace them with cameras while the roof hosts a spoiler at the back.

A set of large 21-inch alloy wheels has been fitted onto the Honda Concept D which comes with a bronze paint and benefits from recessed door handles like you will find on the Tesla Model S. There aren’t any photos with the interior cabin and all the windows have a black tint which indicates Honda has not developed a cabin for this vehicle.

They also haven’t said anything about what powers the concept but the absence of an exhaust tip means that this is most likely an electric vehicle or that it doesn’t have a powertrain at all since this is a concept.
