Honda introduces 2016 Odyssey Special Edition in United States

Honda has taken the wraps off the 2016 Odyssey Special Edition. It’s positioned above the EX but below EX-L and comes with extra standard kit such as the SiriusXM satellite radio, an 115V power outlet and a rear-seat entertainment system. Also part of the package is the HondaVAC vacuum cleaner built into the rear cargo area and according to Honda it provides a level of performance considerably higher compared to a conventional handheld rechargeable vacuum. The model goes on sale today and can be had at a starting price of $33,375.

Power of the 2016 Odyssey Special Edition is provided by a V6 3.5-liter gasoline engine producing 248 bhp (185 kW) and a maximum torque of 338 Nm (250 lb-ft). Output is channeled to the wheels with help from a 6-speed automatic gearbox which allows the minivan to return 19 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg in the combined cycle.


Honda is making the Odyssey exclusively at its manufacturing facility in Lincoln, Alabama while the design and engineering was done by Honda H&D Americas in the Los Angeles design studio and the development center located in Raymond, Ohio. The 2016 model year is available in eight trims, with prices starting at $29,275 MSRP.
