Honda will resurrect the spirit of the classic Beat at next month’s Tokyo Motor Show when they will show this S660 Concept. The Japanese marque says that we are looking at an “open-top sports-type mini-vehicle” but essentially the design is taken from the 2011 concept called EV-STER. Under the hood it has a small yet punchy turbocharged 3-cylinder 660cc engine delivering 64 bhp (48 kW) transferred to the road through a 7-speed CVT. Honda hasn’t said anything about the car’s weight but the figure should be of about 900 kg.
We have both good and bad news as the car will emerge into a production version in 2015 but it will be sold exclusively in Japan. Let’s not lose all hope as rumors are suggesting the S660 could be sold in other areas outside Japan with a beefier turbocharged 1.0-liter mill outputting about 100 bhp (74 kW).
