Honda is providing a sneak preview of their all-new FCV set to premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show late this month. This is a near-production concept featuring a rather strange exterior design which certainly won’t be to everyone’s liking, but nevertheless Honda says the body has been aerodynamically optimized to boost efficiency. We notice that it comes with partially covered rear wheels while up front it has a pair of distinctive LED headlights and mesh grille inserts. It has also received a pair of interesting LED daytime running lights that are shaped like a “C” while the front fenders have vents to enhance cooling. The cherry body red is contrasted by the black roof along with a set of two-tone alloy wheels.
As for the interior cabin, it certainly looks more upscale compared to received products from Honda and it has been fitted with leather-wrapped seats, wood trim, large infotainment touchscreen display, metallic accents and a three-spoke steering wheel.
In terms of technical specifications, all we know from Honda is that the FCV is equipped with a fuel cell powertrain with high-output electric motors and will have a maximum range of more than 435 miles (700 km) while the driving experience is billed as being “exhilarating.”
