Hyundai reveals 2016 Elantra GT at Chicago Auto Show
The 2016 Elantra GT is currently on display at Hyundai’s stand at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. The lightly revised hatchback has received an updated front grille, tweaked 17-inch alloy wheels and optional ventilated front seats which can’t be found in any other vehicle in this segment. Other changes compared to the previous model year include a revised infotainment system benefiting from Siri integration and HD Radio while the optional Blue Link system now comes with enhanced connectivity with support for Destination Search by Google and Remote Start with Climate Control.
Underneath the hood, the 2016 Elantra GT packs a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine outputting 173 bhp (129 kW) and a peak torque of 208 Nm (154 lb-ft). Power is transferred to the front axle through a standard 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission featuring SHIFTRONIC manual shift.
Hyundai will commence sales of the 2016 Elantra GT in March at a starting price of $18,800, without taking into consideration the destination charge which adds an extra $825.
