Infiniti ESQ goes official for Chinese market

At a first glance you might believe this is nothing more than the Nissan Juke in Nismo guise but upon closer inspection you will notice the vehicle is wearing an Infiniti badge. It’s actually the “ESQ” which will be sold exclusively in China where Nissan doesn’t commercialize the Juke. The funky crossover will essentially be a rebadged Nissan Juke Nismo with the Infiniti logo and a few minor tweaks here and there but nothing significant as the vehicle looks virtually the same as the standard model.

It will be unveiled on Friday in China at the Chengdu Auto Show and as expected it will come with Juke Nismo’s 4-cylinder 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine developing 200 PS and a maximum torque of 250 Nm delivered to the road with help from a continuously variable transmission.

The Infiniti ESQ will reach dealerships sometime in October and will kick off at 200,000 yuan (around $32,500) whereas the range-topping version will cost as much as 300,000 yuan ($48,700).
