Isuzu has introduced an all-new model called MU-X which in terms of design is heavily influenced by the D-MAX, including those muscular flared wheel arches and the wedge-shaped front fascia. Inside the cabin there is room enough for as much as seven people while goodies include a standard six-speaker sound system with Bluetooth and iPod support, but for more money clients can opt for the LS-T trim that comes with a ten-speaker SkySound audio system featuring ten-inch DVD screens mounted in the back of the front-seat headrests.
Motivation is provided by a 3.0-liter, inline-four turbodiesel engine packing 174 bhp and a peak torque of 380 Nm available from 1,800 rpm. The engine can send the output to the rear axle or to all four wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic gearbox that has a brake shift lock and sequential shift. The latter option also includes hill-ascent and descent control. If you opt for the 4×4 version you should know that it comes with Isuzu’s Terrain Command 4WD select dial that gives the driver the opportunity to switch between 2-high, 4-high and 4-low range.
