Jaguar details the 2016 US-spec XE
Jaguar has released details concerning the 2016 US-spec XE programmed to go on sale next spring. The XE 20d base model will be equipped with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter Ingenium turbodiesel engine developing 180 bhp (134 kW) and 318 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque. Up next is the XE 35t model which has a V6 3.0-liter supercharged motor generating 340 bhp (253 kW) and 332 lb-ft (449 Nm) of torque. It’s teamed up with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that grants the compact sedan with a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 4.9 seconds and an electronically-capped maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Jaguar will be selling the 2016 US-spec XE in Premium, Prestige and R-Sport trims, with the latter featuring glossy black window surrounds, satin chrome side vents and a subtle rear spoiler while optional 20-inch alloy wheels are also going to be available.
Customers will have to choose between two Meridian sound systems and will be able to select a laser heads-up display, as well as from wood and aluminum trims. The XE is also getting an InControl infotainment system and ambient lighting available in ten different colors.
