Jaguar F-Pace crossover officially introduced

The Jaguar F-Pace is finally here in production form and it’s currently on display in Frankfurt at 2015 IAA. It’s being referred to as the “ultimate practical sportscar” riding on the aluminum-intensive platform that has underpinned the new XE and XF sedans, with an overall length of 4731 mm and a 2874 mm wheelbase while the trunk capacity stands at a rather impressive 650 liters. Inside the cabin there’s room for up to five people and it packs lots of technology such as the 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs on a solid state drive and is powered by a quad core processor.

Power is provided by a 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 180 PS available in manual RWD & AWD and automatic AWD versions, along with a beefier 3.0-liter diesel rated at 300 PS which can be had only in an auto AWD setup. On the gasoline side we find a 240 PS 2.0-liter teamed up to an automatic RWD arrangement while the stronger 3.0-liter has 340 PS & 380 PS and works with an automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.

In terms of performance, the 380 PS F-Pace S will cover the 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) sprint in only 5.1 seconds and it will keep on accelerating until the top speed limiter will kick in at 250 km/h (155 mph.
