South Korean carmaker Kia has introduced the second-gen pro_cee’d in the United Kingdom where it’s already available on order for a starting price of 17,495 pounds when opting for the S trim while the SE variant begins from 19,495 pounds. S comes with automatic lights with follow-me-home, 16-inch alloy wheels, electrically operated folding and heated mirrors, cruise control, electric windows, rear parking sensors and a trip computer. SE rides on 17-inch wheels and comes with a seven-inch touchscreen satellite-navigation system, automatic dual-zone climate control, automatic rain-sensing wipers and stainless steel door sill plates and pedals.
The S variant fitted with the 133 hp / 164 lb-ft 1.6-liter GDI engine will do the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) run in 9.8 seconds, while the more expensive SE model needs 0.3 seconds less. Kia also offers the 1.6-liter GRDI engine which churns 126 hp / 192 lb-ft. It helps the pro_cee’d S reach 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds while the pro_cee’d SE will do the task in 10.5 seconds. As standard, both engines are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, but for the 1.6 GDI SE version you can order a six-speed DCT.
