Lexus LFA production has ended

Lexus has reached the end of the production phase for the LFA which was the firm’s flagship car. All 500 units were manufactured at the Motomachi production line located in Japan. The final car was a white LFA with the Nurburgring Package, one of the 50 units of the total five hundred. It’s different from the regular version thanks to its big carbon fiber rear wing, lighter alloy wheels, front winglets, Bridgestone tires and a 10 kg less curb weight. The last car had a price tag of 346,752 pounds which made it a full 50,000 pounds more expensive than the regular LFA. Despite the high prices, Lexus has said that they didn’t make any profit with their flagship model.

As a reminder, the Lexus LFA is powered by a Yamaha-tuned V10 4.8-liter engine developing 552 hp. The carbon fiber knowledge gained by Lexus during the development of the LFA will be put to good use in future models, while some of the design elements will also be carried over onto upcoming Lexus cars. One of the first cars to receive LFA-related styling (especially on the inside) could be the new generation of the IS sedan.
