Lincoln shows the MKC production version
At the beginning of the year at NAIAS in Detroit we saw Lincoln’s MKC concept which has now been revealed in production guise as a 2015 model year. The vehicle closely resembles the concept but with some differences such as the implementation of regular door handles, a more toned down exhaust arrangement and slightly tweaked taillights. It comes with the now familiar split-wing grille as well as the wraparound liftgate which were introduced on the 2013 MKZ. Lincoln mentions the car will be available with an optional all-glass Vista Roof which should provide a nice view from the inside.
Motivation will come from a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder EcoBoost standard engine outputting 240 HP and 270 lb-ft of torque. There will also be an optional newly developed 2.3-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost rated at 275 HP and 300 lb-ft. A front-wheel drive layout will be standard but at an additional cost clients will be able to configure their car with a four-wheel drive setup. Also standard will be 18-inch rims while 19-inch alloys are extra.
The 2015 Lincoln MKC will enter production phase in Q2 2014 in Louisville, Kentucky before deliveries commence within the summer.
