The Lotus Exige S Automatic is now available on order and it costs an extra £1,667 over the manual variant. It promises to be not only quicker but also more economical than the manual version and this new six-speed automatic gearbox is capable of changing gears in only 240 milliseconds. Once Sport mode is selected, it will improve the throttle response, increase traction slip thresholds of the Dynamic Performance Management system and it will also open the engine exhaust bypass valve.
Its heart and soul is a V6 3.5-liter supercharged engine developing 345 bhp and 400 Nm sent to the wheels with help from the six-speed auto which grants the vehicle with a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 3.8 seconds while the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint takes 3.9 seconds before topping out at 162 mph (261 km/h). Opt for the roadster variant and the top speed decreases to 145 mph (233 km/h).
As a final note, the Lotus Exige S Automatic will need 9.6 liters / 100 km and emit 222 g/km of CO2.
