Lotus prepares Elise 20th Anniversary Edition
Lotus has introduced the Elise 20th Anniversary Edition to celebrate two decades since the model was unveiled. This new variant will replace the Elise S Club Racer and is going to be offered in blue, green, yellow and silver body paints which will all be combined with matte black wing mirrors, rear transom, roll hoop and rear diffuser. All cars are getting forged alloy wheels painted in matte black while on the inside there are decals on the dashboard and seats. At an additional cost, Lotus is offering an optional hardtop priced at £1,200.
Motivation is provided by a supercharged 4-cylinder 1.8-liter gasoline engine developing 217 bhp (162 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque. Weighing 10 kg less than the Elise S, the Lotus Elise 20th Anniversary Edition tips the scales at 914 kg (2,015 lbs) and can run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds and do 145 mph (237 km/h).
Pricing kicks off at £39,900 and you can add air conditioning for £1,250 as well as cd/radio & USB connection and NVH pack for £1,200. Lotus says this new version has £5,150 worth of additional equipment for which you will only have to pay an extra £2,700 compared to the stock Elise.
