Lotus introduces Exige S Club Racer

British marque Lotus is introducing the Exige S Club Racer which comes with a plethora of upgrades. The most important one is a 15 kg weight loss so the vehicle now weighs only 1,161 kg (2,559 lbs) thanks to a lightweight battery, seats and doors while the body has gained a new front splitter, rear wing and flat underside. These aerodynamic tweaks allow the car to generate an additional 42 kg (92 lbs) of downforce while doing 100 mph (161 km/h).

Power of the 2015 Lotus Exige S Club Racer comes from the same 3.5-liter supercharged V6 engine outputting 345 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 400 Nm at 4,500 rpm. It’s enough power to enable a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in four seconds before hitting a maximum speed of 170 mph (274 km/h).

Lotus is asking £56,900 for the Exige S Club Racer which makes it £2,400 more expensive than the Exige S but adds £4,500 worth of equipment. Customers will be able to get it with either a white or yellow metallic paint or a black or orange matte hue which all come with the rear wing, roof panel, front splitter, mirrors and front access panel painted in matte black.
