mcchip-dkr tunes the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

As if the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series wasn’t already impressive enough in its standard configuration, the engineers from mcchip-dkr decided to take the supercar one step further by tweaking the V8 6.3-liter engine. In its stock setup the engine is capable of putting out 622 PS (457 kW) and 648 Nm but after the tuner worked its magic the eight-cylinder motor now generates 654 PS (481 kW) and 649 Nm of torque. The power gains were possible by upgrading the engine’s ECU that has also lowered the supercar’s fuel consumption.

mcchip-dkr is asking 3,199 euros for this package and they are already developing a stage 2 kit which will take the output of the engine most likely close to the 700 PS mark. As a reminder, the SLS AMG Black Series will be replaced by Mercedes-Benz in the months to come by the AMG GT which will be a smaller and more affordable car.
