McLaren P15 slated for a 2017 release?
It is believed McLaren is plotting a model which will be positioned between the 650S and P1. The model is currently known as the P15 bust most likely this is an internal codename and once the car will be out it will receive a different moniker. The supercar is expected to adopt a supercharged mid-mounted engine and will benefit from a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. Other details about the model are not available at this point but chances are the model will be powered by a significantly upgraded variant of the 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo found inside the 12C and 650S.
It seems this model is still “quite a long way off” but the report mentions it will have a starting price of around $500,000 and will benefit from a hybrid system. Unlike the P1 which was built in a limited series, the P15 is expected to be a regular production model.
