Mercedes-Benz A-Class gets a BlueEFFICIENCY Edition
The German automaker Mercedes-Benz has announced plans on introducing a more frugal version of the A-Class. Known as the BlueEFFICIENCY (BE) Edition, this special A-Class is aimed at those who put great emphasis on all things eco. In terms of design, we will be able to differentiate it from the regular model thanks to the round LED daytime running lights and a slightly updated front grille.
In addition, the car also benefits from improved underbody aerodynamics and comes with a reduced ride height.
Clients will be able to order it with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine available for the A 180 BE variant where it pumps out 122 HP (90 kW). This one has an average fuel consumption of 5.2 liters / 100 km (54.3 mpg UK or 45.2 mpg US) and has CO2 emissions of 120 g/km.
There’s also the A 180 CDI BE which sports a 1.5-liter diesel generating 109 HP (80 kW). Mercedes-Benz says that this variant is the most fuel-efficient car that they have ever made, being able to provide an impressive fuel consumption of 3.6 liters / 100 km (78.4 mpg UK or 65.3 mpg US). Its CO2 emissions stand at just 92 g/km.
Both versions of the A-Class BlueEFFICIENCY Edition are slated to go on sale next month, with deliveries commencing in March.
