Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake revealed

The Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake has made its online debut and is scheduled to go on sale in 2015. This is the base wagon offered by Daimler and it’s also the smallest as the car’s dimensions stand at: 4630mm length, 1777mm width, 1435mm height and a trunk capacity of 495 liters which makes it 25 liters bigger than the CLA. Interestingly, the rear seats can stay in a “cargo” steeply raked position which will boost the trunk space to 595 liters. If that’s not enough, fold down the rear seats and the capacity will increase to 1,354 liters.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake will be available with a 2.1-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel rated at 136 HP & 300 Nm and 177 HP & 350 Nm. If you prefer gasoline engine, there’s a 1.6-liter with 122 HP & 200 Nm and 156 HP & 250 Nm. There’s also a beefier 2.0-liter outputting 211 HP & 350 Nm and you can get this engine with 4MATIC all-wheel drive if you are willing to pay more.

The range-topping CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake is motivated by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged motor unleashing 360 HP at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 450 Nm from 2,250 rpm to 5,000 rpm. Featuring a standard 4MATIC setup, the hot estate needs 4.7 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) and it will keep on going until it hits an electronically-limited maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

Mercedes-Benz will start deliveries of the regular CLA Shooting Brake and its AMG sibling in March 2015.
