Mercedes-Benz introduces GLK 350 4MATIC Schwarz Edition in Japan
Mercedes-Benz is spoiling its Japanese customers with a special edition of the GLK-Class. The model of choice is the GLK 350 4MATIC which has received a “Schwarz Edition” after the German word for “black”. The car has been painted in Obsidian Black and rides on massive 20-inch alloys. It features the AMG styling package, complemented by a sport-tuned suspension and stainless steel running boards. On the inside it gets a sport steering wheel, Artico / Dinamica seats, alloy pedals and black ash wood. Other goodies include bespoke floor mats, heated front seats and active blind spot assist.
The Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 4MATIC Schwarz Edition benefits from other safety features as well, such as the active lane keeping assist system and active park assist. Motivation is provided exclusively by the V6 3.5-liter engine outputting 306 HP (225 kW) and a maximum torque of 272 lb-ft (370 Nm). The power unit is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel drive 4MATIC setup.
The German automaker will build only 100 units of this special GLK, with pricing starting at 6,840,000 yen (about 52,325 euros or $69,540).
