Mercedes C450 AMG Sport to pack 367 HP?

German media is reporting the forthcoming Mercedes C450 AMG Sport will be offered with 367 HP (270 kW). This news comes only a few days after Mercedes-Benz announced the inauguration of an AMG Sport lineup which will be slotted above the standard models but below the fully-fledged AMG cars. The newly established family will make its global debut in January at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit where the German marque is expected to bring not only the C450 AMG Sport but also the GLE 450 AMG Sport.

As far as the Mercedes C450 AMG Sport is concerned, Auto Motor und Sport says it will be powered by a V6 3.0-liter engine outputting 367 HP (270 kW) which would make it 34 HP (25 kW) more powerful than the C400 but still 109 HP (80 kW) less than the range-topping C63 AMG variant.

Aside from the bump in power, the Mercedes C450 AMG Sport will benefit from other upgrades such as bigger brakes, special chassis components while in some markets an all-wheel drive system will be standard equipment. Needless to say, all of the other AMG Sport models will benefit from the same array of upgrades and hopefully we will have more details next month at NAIAS.
