Mercedes introduces S 63 AMG Coupe, available with 4MATIC
What we have here is Mercedes-Benz’s all-new S63 AMG Coupe which serves as a direct replacement for the CL 63 AMG. Compared to its predecessor, the new model is not only more powerful but at the same time it has lost a significant 65 kg. Motivation is provided by a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine unleashing no less than 577 bhp and a maximum torque of 900 Nm. It is available not only with a rear-wheel drive layout but also with the company’s well-known 4MATIC all-wheel drive arrangement. Regardless of the type of traction selected, both of them have an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
If you go for the RWD model you will have to wait 4.3 seconds until the speedometer will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) while the S63 AMG Coupe 4MATIC can do it in an amazing 3.9 seconds, a truly remarkable feature taking into consideration that car weighs almost 2,000 kg. It sits on AMG’s ten-spoke 20-inch alloys and benefits from a variety of goodies such as air suspension, MAGIC BODY CONTROL, as well as the option of a curve tilting function.
The vehicle will be showcased to the public for the first time next month at the New York Auto Show before going on sale in April for the 4MATIC and in July for the rear-wheel drive. Starting September the first units will reach their rightful clients.
