Mercedes reveals Concept GLC Coupe for Auto Shanghai 2015

The Mercedes-Benz Concept GLC Coupe “near-production-standard study” has been unveiled at Auto Shanghai. The concept is basically a smaller version of the GLE Coupe and will spawn a production version likely next year which will be based on the second generation GLK crossover set to be renamed GLC. It’s 4.73 meters long and comes with a 2.83-meter wheelbase and sits on oversized 21-inch alloys which obviously won’t make it to the production model. The body has received an attractive solar-beam paint with matte gun metal body cladding made from plastic.

Due to a sloping roofline, the Concept GLC Coupe is only 1.60 meters tall so headroom for rear passengers probably isn’t that great. Mercedes-Benz equipped with the compact crossover with LED headlights and recessed door handles while underneath the hood is a 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo engine producing 367 PS and 520 Nm. This motor will likely power the AMG Sport version and in the concept it works with a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system and a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
