MINI Cooper S prepared by Maxi-Tuner to 220 PS

Maxi-Tuner is among the first aftermarket specialists to take a stab at the third generation MINI and they decided to focus on the hotter Cooper S version. Work started on the 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine which in its standard configuration develops 192 PS (141 kW) and a peak torque of 206 lb-ft (280 Nm) but Maxi-Tuner managed to bump the output to 220 PS (162 kW) and 251 lb-ft (340 Nm). The power gain was possible by inserting a chip-tuning box as well as a stainless steel sports exhaust system.

At an additional cost, the tuner is selling a valve exhaust system as well as a cup exhaust tailored to track use. The car seen here is sitting on 18-inch Schmidt Shift rims shod in Goodyear 215/35 R18 tires and has also received lowering springs from H&R. All these changes have increased the MINI Cooper S’ top speed from 146 mph (235 km/h) to more than 155 mph (250 km/h).

The additional power costs 899 euros and if you want the basic exhaust you will have to pay 699 euros. Adding the wheel set will increase the bill by 1,498 euros while the lowering springs are available for 279 euros.
